There is a race that will keep you panting nonstop. At one point you are gasping for breath to climb a very steep road and at the other, you are panting for the bicycle ride of your life. Also in another pace, you are swimming as fast as you can. These are the basics of a triathlon.

Situated in the Mid Atlantic, the place is perfect testing area for optimum endurance, stamina, and strength. Savageman Triathlon is a festival for triathletes and at the same time, a treat for them because of the marvelous vistas surrounding the tracks. About a thousand athletes are welcomed to the competition but only one will be hailed as the champion.

One thousand athletes are registered in the event but only one gets to be the most savage of them all. The event starts at the Deep Creek Lake, which is the swimming course. The athletes are expected to swim at an allocated time and reach the lake side for the next trail. The bicycle trail is very challenging yet the roads are really smooth allowing the bike to run fast. This is in Garret County where the Allegheny Mountains can be seen. Finally, the running track is in the Deep Creek State Park.

The most savage area of the entire course is the Westernport Wall, where the athletes will be climbing. This trail is very steep and will really test the endurance and stamina of the participants. Reports show that it is the steepest in all triathlon events.

The shortest climb time record belongs to Phillip Grave at thirty minutes and thirty two seconds. It has not been defeated yet and many athletes aim high to take the record off him. This year, there are thousands of prepared hopefuls who are determined to make their own history at the legendary triathlon venue and event.

This has been considered as a legendary event that will be remembered by any participant for the rest of his or her life. This event is also hailed as the most savage in the world when it comes to triathlon. Furthermore, this event is partly for a cause as well. It is affiliated with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, which is a watershed preservation agency.

The main rule of the race is to finish the race within nine hours. The breakdown of hours include one hour and fifteen minutes for the swim, six hours for the bike, and seven point five hours for the run. If within five hours they have not reached the thirty ninth mile of the race, which is also called the Killer Miller, they will be disqualified from the competition.

Some managers of the race, organizers, and medics are stationed at certain points in every course. They are there to watch over the needs of the athletes. In addition, they will decide whether or not to allow the athlete to go on with the race. So before the event, participants are expected to make intense training in order to survive the brutality of the entire course.

The schedule this year is on the twentieth of September. The registration is ongoing. The final participants will gather in the venue at nine in the morning. The swim course is at a distance of one point two miles, the biking trail is around fifty five miles, and thirteen miles for the marathon track.
