When machines and other kind of equipment are exposed to constant usage, their efficiency reduces due to wearing down. Efficiency can be accelerated if the parts in the machines are maintained properly. It is important to prolong the lifetime of these machines by subjecting them to frequent maintenance services. Wear liners are useful in ensuring that the most used parts of the machinery are covered to minimize wear.

Lubrication methods have increased with advancements in technology. Though a liner protects the inner parts, it also wears off from different aspects. It is thus crucial to replace this layer frequently to guarantee safety of the important pieces of machinery. These parts can weaken quickly if proper protection is not observed. Consider the following sources of wear in liners.

Friction a leading causes of inefficiency in machines. It occurs between two surfaces that are moving adjacent to or against each other. The magnitude of resistance can be determined by the temperature of the area in use, the kind of materials in contact and the velocity of the movement. More friction leads to more wear.

Particles between two surfaces can also be a leading reason for inefficiency of liners. The particles are produced from the incineration part in this equipment. These particles weaken the liner when the machine is running. It is important to get rid of these particles that destroy the inner part of the lining. This is through frequent cleaning of machines.

In machines that support burning of heavy fuels, corrosion is likely to occur. During combustion, there is production of sulphur. When this content is in a large amount, it leads to production of sulphuric acid in the presence of water or moisture inside the incineration space. Once this acid is formed, there is corrosion that weakens the materials near this place. However, the problem can be avoided by using an alkaline to neutralize the acidity.

Due to the movement of pistons inside, their shiny appearance change. With time a rough surface is formed. This roughness can tear off liners when there is constant movement. This problem comes about when lubrication is not enough between these surfaces. Due to overheating in this sector, the lubricating oil cannot support the purpose. The efficiency is reduced thus the piston cannot be protected.

Another minor problem that resembles abrasion is formation of tiny marks on the surface of the liner. The small marks are due to the irregular movement of pistons against the protective layer. They are also created because of insufficient lubrication. This problem might not be destructive at the early stages. However with time, the efficiency of protective coat may reduce.

The discussed are some of the reason of tear in a liner. To increase the effectiveness of these layers, continuous maintenance is important. Compared to metals inside, these layers have a high exposure to corrosion and friction. It is thus crucial to provide maintenance services constantly.
