The number one recycled product today is motor vehicles.it is estimated that a region can have over 50,000 vehicles that have reached their end of life every year. Over 85% of all the material in a vehicle is recyclable by weight. Leaving dead cars out in the woods, by the road side or in the back yard is wasteful. The recycle of these cars for their used parts and scrap helps in saving money, energy and natural resources. Junk car buyers help in the recycling industries by acquiring the vehicles from the owners. You may ask, who buys junk cars? Well, there are several people who do since they know the value of doing so.

Recycling of the old vehicles also helps to protect the environment. There are components in the vehicle that are hazardous to the health of human beings and the environment as well. These harmful substances include gas, lead, mercury, oils and others. When in contact with the air around us or the water we drink or even the soil, they cause damages to all the forms of life.

Scrap vehicles can be purchased via the net, individuals and piece yards. Most people however usually take the vehicle direct to a scrap car business or sometimes trade it in at a dealership. Most of the time, the vehicles find their way to an auto wrecker for the purpose of recycling. First order of business here is the removal of all reusable parts like the wheels, windows, hoods, seats, doors and trunk lids.

The vehicles are then drained off the fluids and their mercury switches are removed. The rest of the vehicle is then shredded and ripped into chunks of nonferrous metals, steel and fluffs the size of fist. Steel and iron are removed using a magnet from the other contents and recycled. Metal scrap is then taken to steel mills where steel is produced using them.

Old vehicles give out over 18 million tons of steel that the steel industry uses in its production process. Scrap vehicles also produce recycled materials that make up 25% of new cars. The new autos mostly consist of parts got from recycled steel like shells and trunks. Old vehicles are in high demand in the auto recycling industry.

The growth of the significance and the chances brought about by recycling has improved in a big margin over time. Buyers and sellers have different options of how they can acquire an old car or how to sell one. There has been tremendous increase in online shops and scrap yards everywhere. Most of interested buyers are usually vehicle dealers and yards.

An auto recycling facility needs to get skilled labor or engage in major training of unskilled labor in the yard. The overall efficiency of a facility depends whether the work force is sufficiently trained and skilled. The workers should be provided with insurance by their employer. Salvaged vehicles prices have been sky rocketing due to the high export rate leaving the local firms to scrabble for the remaining junk cars.

Those who recycle have come up with urbane customer care services and marketing techniques that are tailored for getting more old cars. The techniques used are for attracting sellers to a specific recycling plant. Some firms produce nonferrous metals and steel from old cars and then sell to manufacturing industries.
