Bali, Indonesia has been the favorite destination of many tourists for the past years because of the interesting blend of traditional and the modern in it. It may be the smallest province of the country, but it has so many to offer, from its wonderful sunsets to the museums and the shopping centers. What could make the trip to Bali really worthwhile is a rental car Bali that could actually make your trip easier and more convenient.

If you are visiting Bali for the first time, the most common thing to do would be to go with a tour package. However, you may be rushed from one tourist spot to another and not have enough time to enjoy all that Bali has to offer. If you would like to try a bit more of an adventure, then try renting a car. You could explore the places at your own pace and not be worried about being left behind by your tour group.

Before you even start looking for a car for hire in Bali, you have to make sure that you have obtained your international driving license that would allow you to drive anywhere in Indonesia. In the absence of an international license, you could try getting a tourist driving permit from the capital city of Denpasar. This would allow you to drive legally in Bali for one month.

In the absence of these licenses, you could choose to rent a car with a company that offers drivers also. Once you get to your hotel in Bali, ask the concierge for some recommendations on trusted car rental companies. Most of these companies often leave a calling card or a brochure with the hotel concierge so it would be easy enough for you to make the right choice.

Driving around Bali, where English is not the first language of its people may present some problems. Thus, make sure that if you are renting a car with a driver, the driver should be able to speak English well enough for you to understand each other. Many of the car rental companies in Indonesia that have been in the business long enough have drivers who can converse well in English.

Remember also that unlike some countries, traffic in Indonesia is on the left side. So if you are more familiar with driving on the right side, you may have some difficulty adjusting. In such cases, it is really better to hire a car with a competent driver who knows all the traffic rules and regulations. Find out also what hours would be very busy to avoid traffic jams.

Before accepting the rental car, check if it is in top shape, meaning all the pedals, especially the brake pedal works. A test drive may be necessary to see if all systems work, including the AC. It would also be smart to check for dents so that you would not be blamed for these once you return the car to the company.

Finally, check if the rental price includes insurance premiums. It is never wise to drive in an unfamiliar area without insurance. If the price does not include insurance, pay for the premium to make you feel more protected in case of an emergency. Your holiday in could truly be an exciting, more convenient and a memorable one once you decide to use a rental car Bali.
