Victorville Motors in Victorville, Calif., has a distinctive deal exercised with local high schools. In exchange for ideal attendance, two lucky pupils drawn in a raffle can win a 2013 Dodge Dart.

More pupils have perfect work

Ideal work numbers have increased significantly in the participating schools since the It's a Fuel to Go to Class plan started. Over five dozen automobiles have been sold during the last 18 months at Victorville Motors due to the competition. The state has also seen an enormous increase in work and academic performance.

"I had no idea how successful it would be," said 47-year-old Victorville Motors dealer principal Tim Watts.

A local parent brought up the idea of possibly giving away a vehicle to watts. The dealer has always been very involved in the community and raising cash for local organizations.

"It wasn't just about us. We wanted to do it as a multi-layered approach and an outreach that includes other local businesses," said Watts.

Promotion effective for sales

About 15 to 20 kids in the schools had perfect attendance for the Dodge Dart promotion as started at Victorville Motors. The plan involved six school districts and 12 high schools presently. There are now a few hundred kids with ideal attendance since the program was initiated. Victorville Motors has also seen a rise in sales. In 2012, it sold 850 new vehicles and 756 used vehicles.

If the winner is under 18, the car is awarded to the parent because minors cannot win vehicles with California law. The students who maintain an ideal work are given a golden ticket at the end of the year, so they can participate in the dodge Dart charity raffle. Students are also given supplemental prizes such as gift cards for motivation.
