Typically, car wheels are the most susceptible to road damage compared to any other part of a car. They tend to hit potholes, curbs and many other objects. Therefore, they can cause damage to the alloy wheels which may leave your car in a bad state. If these costs are not repaired in time, the wheels can start rusting and eventually, the strength and the integrity of the car rim will be reduced. For this reason, it is essential to do your aluminum rim repair Orlando in time.

It is thus advisable to do the remodeling of the wheels as soon as the damage happens so that the risk of damaging can be reduced. Some simple steps can be followed to refurbish the alloy wheels, and they should be monitored closely. The things that you will need are liquid soap, masking tape, sponge, old towel, aluminum polish. High-gloss clear lacquer, grind sandpaper and alloy paint that matches the color of a wheel.

Firstly, you will clean wheel using the liquid soap with warm water. After cleaning it, leave it for some time to dry. Using the towel, apply paint thinner on the damaged part of your wheel. The paint thinner is used to remove old wax and road grime. Make sure that you have done this steps as outlined so that you can get desired results.

To get rid of paint thinner that may be in excess, you will be needed to wash it off using water and soap. Make sure the wheels are dry before you mask the undamaged parts of the car brim using your masking tape. Sand the area that is damaged using the 400-grit sandpaper.

When you notice that grooves have started forming and the part starts becoming rough, you should stop the sanding. You are then supposed to cover all the parts that are scratched using putty then leave it to dry for approximately five minutes. Using the 600 grit sandpaper, gently sand the putty until it becomes smooth.

Use a masking tape make sure that you have covered the part of the wheel that is not damaged so that it will not be over sprayed when applying lacquer or paint. The next thing is to apply rather thin paint layers on the putty to completely cover it then give it some few minutes to dry.

When the paint dries, smoothen the repaired area using 1200 grit sandpaper. The next thing is washing the areas that have been painted using soap and slightly warm water and leave it to dry. Then, spray clear lacquer on the already shaded area of the wheel and leave it to dry overnight before proceeding to the next step.

Once the lacquer has dried completely, you can now remove the masking tape from the entire wheel and wash it. Apply the alloy polish using a soft and dry cloth. The polishing should be done to the whole wheel so that it blends and shines. Then, ensure you take care of the wheels so that you avoid damaging the brim again.
