The battery is a very big part of the functioning of your vehicle. It powers up everything, a good quality one should last you for 6 years. To replace it yourself you must find it under the hood. Take out the cables attached one by one. It s recommended that you take the black one out first and then the red one. The last one taken out should be first in. Put in the new battery and then the cables.

You need the oil to be a bit warm so that it can slide out easily so turn your engine on for a bit. Thereafter find the drain plug beneath the engine, place a container under it to catch the older oil and then unscrew the drain plug so it flows to the container. Then get rid of the cap to the oil filler hole, unscrew the oil filter and empty it too. Dab your finger into the new oil to wet the gasket put in the new oil filter and pour new oil into the filler hole. Switch engine on for a minute to secure it.

A spark plug socket is the best tool to help you remove the old and insert th new. But you need to first ascertain you have the right ones for your type of car. You can take out one before you actually purchase them so you know what to get. To locate them look for 4 to 8 wires that are plugged onto your engine. Then remove the old and place the new.

Walk around your car from time to time and check if all lights still function. If you find a problem, take one of them with you, to get the exact one so that you don t make a mistake. To replace it depends on your type of car, for some it is as easy as removing the lens of the tail light. Then you will be able to see the bulb that is burnt, turning counterclockwise is how you detangle it from its socket. Use some dielectric grease on the socket when you insert the new one.

Air filters are also really important. To replace them you need to first locate the air box. Undo the screws holding the air cover together, remove the air cover and then take the air filter out. Clean it s housing you should use a vacuum. Now you can insert a new filter inside the housing.
