One of the car problems that many people would really complain about would be the presence of thickened oil or sludge in the engine. Now this problem can result in a lot of complications which could cost a lot of money for the car owner. So if one would want to avoid any problems in the future, then he should take a look at these engine sludge symptoms.

Now if the car cannot seem to turn on, then there is definitely a problem right under the hood. Now usually, one would just need to start up his car by turning the key to the ignition. If he cannot seem to do this, then there is a possibility that he has a clog in his motor.

Now the most likely thing that happened would be that the sludge that was built up has covered the spark plugs. When the spark plugs do not work properly, then they cannot help jump start the car. Of course in order to be able to fix this problem, one would have to take the substance away from these spark plugs.

If one notices that his oil level is getting used up faster than usual, then he may actually attribute this to a clog. Now one would probably be wondering a clog can lead to oil being used up too quickly. Well since there is a clog, then the oil will not be able to travel properly in the motor which means that only a small amount of oil is being used.

Now if one notices that the oxygen sensor is not giving an accurate reading, then do check the motor for sludge. Now the oxygen sensor is there to detect if the car has enough oxygen in it for it to be able to function properly. Now if the oxygen sensor shows that there is not enough fuel, then there possibly is a clog.

Of course one would also have to check the oil pressure indicator. Now the low oil pressure indicator will be lighting up if there is a clog in the motor. The reason why it will light up is simply because the oil that was supposed to be distributed to all parts of the motor did not do so.

Now an overheating engine is definitely one of the most obvious signs that there is thickened oil stuck to the motor. Now the problem here is that if there is a clog, then proper oil will not go inside the motor which means that when the motor runs, it does not have anything to run on. So it will just keep on running until it eventually dies.

So if one owns a car, he has to check for symptoms like these while he is driving. If he notices these problems but leaves them alone, then this means that he will have some long term problems with his car. So once he notices, he should clean up the sludge from the motor right away to avoid any further complications.
