A lot of vehicle owners may find it necessary to have a vehicle converted after being relocated to a foreign county. When you are trying to find a right hand drive camaro conversion there are two main ways you can achieve this. When exporting a car it is not illegal to use it with left hand controls but modifying the car will make it easier to drive.

Converting a car from left to right hand drive is not as easy as swapping some parts to the other side. The main controls such as pedals and steering wheel will have to be moved across as well as some switches and trim. The car will also need work underneath and the brakes and suspension will need some adjustments to ensure they operate safely.

The cheap way to do a conversion is to buy a kit from an auto supplier or online parts retailer and do the job yourself. There are various kits offered that are made for different Chevrolet camaro models. You need to be aware that due to the low cost of this method a lot of the metal work, fixings and mechanical components will be visible inside the vehicle when the job has been done.

There are now many web based auto companies who can supply you with a kit and after a little careful research a suitable one can be found. They will usually be sent on an overnight service and should arrive at your home with the fitting instructions and technical advice. Much of this work may require some tools and specialized equipment and you should check with your supplier before you order and pay for your kit.

The preferred way of getting conversions done is to hand your vehicle over to a professional company. There are companies who can do this work and their final results will be of a high standard. It will obviously cost more than the basic kit conversion but it will be well worth it as the modification work will be covered by their guarantee.

If choose to employ a technician to work on your car, a better finish can be achieved than with a kit. All of the new components that are fitted will be invisible and in most cases the car will look like a factory made right hand drive model. The advantage of using professional companies is that they will usually offer continued maintenance for the vehicle after the modifications have been done.

Whichever way the conversion is done the vehicle will need to be properly inspected by an engineer to make sure it complies with safety regulations. If the vehicle has been converted by technicians it should be returned to you with documents confirming that it has passed these inspections. If the conversion has been done as a DIY project, the vehicle can be taken in for the safety checks afterwards.

The final thing for you to consider is that if the car is still under a Chevrolet warranty the changes will affect it. If you plan on selling the car the sale price may be less than that of an original model. To make sure you abide by the law, your cars insurance company should be informed of the modifications and your payments may rise.
