Mechanical engineering is an engineering branch where physics and also the materials science on the analysis, design, maintenance, and the manufacturing of the mechanical systems. This study involves the designing, producing, operating a machinery. This is considered to be one of the most old disciplines. The robots became very useful now especially for most businesses that may involve dangerous tasks an can be very difficult for the humans to handle.

Structural analysis is combining mechanical and civil engineering. It is used to examine how or why an object fails. It is also used in fixing them. This often occurs in a static failure mode or fatigue failure mode. Static failure mode often happens when the object is loaded and it breaks or deforms. Fatigue failure mode often happens when the object fails if there is a repeating cycle of loading and unloading the objects.

Thermodynamics studies about the use and transformation of energy by the use of a system. The principles that are being used by engineers are thermofluids, heat transfer, and energy conversion. Thermoscience is being used for designing power plants and engines, ventilation, heating, etc.

Drafting is used by engineers for creating instructions in manufacturing the parts and for creating designs of products. The people who are known as experts in making or creating technical drawings are called drafters or draftsmen. Computer aided designs allow the people to create 3D designs.

An engineer manufactures the parts optionally by technical drawings. They may do it through spray coatings or through finishes when the machine alone cannot work on it. Drafting now is widely used, not only in this type of field but also in many other branches and subdisciplines.
