No matter what time of year, a day out on a recreational vehicle provides more fun and adventure than a trip to an amusement park. The thrill of the wind rushing past as one bounces over the rocky terrain or whips through the slippery mud bogs is like nothing else. This sense of excitement can be amplified by the installation of ATV lift kits that take the experience to a whole new level.

Even though vehicles of this sort are made to withstand some heavy duty shocks, there are occasionally bumps that are strong enough to cause the tire to grind against the fender when bouncing on landing. Most of the time the rider does not even notice this but over time it can cause weak spots in the rubber that could cause an inopportune flat. This is would be a serious damper on the fun factor.

There are a number of pluses gained from the installation of these kits, the main one being a couple of extra inches of height. The lifts put more space between the axle and the fender which keeps the tire from rubbing on the metal during a bouncy run. It also creates enough room to facilitate smoother turning on those sharp curves.

Serious off road riders find that the extra height is perfect for accommodating the installation of the larger tires preferred for this type of activity. The combination makes chancy landings much more stable and easier to handle. The space between the fender and the wheel is a very valuable asset to those who can not risk a high speed blow out.

ATV racers often state that between the bigger tires and the additional height from the lifts give them a little something extra on the track. Their cycles seem to be much easier to handle when going over the hills and valleys or the sharp curves along the trails. Many of them will even attribute greater speed to the spacing gained from the adjustments.

If the vehicle is used for hunting or working in areas with high, dense brush, the extra height is a welcome addition. They raise the undercarriage above the level of the thickest brambles, allowing the tires to roll over them with little resistance at all. The intakes of the cycle are lifted a good two to four inches above their original position, making it safer to travel through areas that may have pockets of water.

Installation is generally done in a matter of just a few short hours and does not require any type of specialty tools. Most sets come with instructions that are clearly written and easy to understand so that even someone without any mechanical experience can do the job. The parts go on with simple bolts set between the shock and the mount, and even though they lower the front A-arms, they do not upset the proper angle of the suspension.

Installing ATV lift kits is one way to add to the excitement of an already thrilling all terrain vehicle experience. They give the cycle the additional height needed to clear rough ground, make more stable landings and prevent tire rub. The overall appearance of the bike is also improved because it takes on a much cooler, and thrilling feel.
