Tours of Miami Florida are just as thrilling and multi-hued as the city itself. Visitors of all stripes will find something to their liking, from a guided sightseeing city tour of the major attractions to foodie expeditions and beach hopping. There are quite a few such options, including day trips, self-guided walking and bicycle tours, segway adventures and art deco explorations.

Tourists who are in the city for the very first time will want to take a look at all the famous tourist attractions. This is best done in a guided tour format, where the tour guide follows a set itinerary from one point of interest to the next. Most tours will stop by at Vizcaya, Jungle Island, Coral Castle, Zoo Miami and Gator Park. South Beach and Lincoln Road will also be likely stops on the tour for browsing and shopping.

For those who prefer a less rigid itinerary, buying a multi-day ticket for a hop-on hop-off bus route is a better choice. These buses follow city and beach loops that include popular tourist spots. Passengers can get off at any stop and then get on the bus again at any point along the route at a later time or even on the next day.

The beach loop starts from Central Station and takes a round trip around the island of Miami Beach, offering fabulous ocean views on Collins Ave, Ocean Drive and South Beach. The city loop also starts from Central Station, and then makes its way through Coral Gables, Coconut Grove, Little Havana, Downtown and other tourist-friendly districts. This bus route covers many of the aforementioned tourist attractions such as Vizcaya and the Art Deco District.

Day tripping is yet another option that attracts hordes of tourists. One of these day trips is an Everglades visit which includes an airboat experience and time spent soaking in the sun with the 2,000 or so nasty inmates of the Everglades Alligator Farm. A more relaxed outing is possible with an island exploration of beautiful Key West.

Foodies looking for a taste of the Caribbean may opt for culinary tours. Little Havana is a good place to find Cuban dishes, with tour stops for sampling everything from breaded chicken toston and plantains to a Cafe Cubano. South Beach is ideal for those who need more variety in their food. This tour will stop by at delis offering Jewish fare, Italian restaurants with succulent gelatos, Colombian eateries for homemade empanadas, and a lot more. Individuals may also ask for a custom food tour.

Fitness conscious visitors can opt for a bicycle or walking tour. This can be a stroll down Little Havana's Calle Ocho, or it can be an exploration of Miami Beach's art deco treasures. Many tourists can also be found rattling along in groups on segways along the riverfront or to various sunset points facing the ocean.

Those who want to get to know the city have a huge list of self-guided tours of Miami Florida to choose from. Just follow the GPS as it leads the way from one point of interest to the next in each area, along with audio to indicate what to see and do. Tourists planning to do this may want to get a Go Miami Card. It will be much more affordable than paying entry fees at each attraction individually.
