Home improvement projects in the yard can involve moving dirt, mixing concrete or cutting landscape bricks and tiles. These projects are all made easier by having the right tools. However, most homeowners will not have enough need to actually buy the tools. This is where tool rentals can be helpful.

Moving a lot of dirt can be accomplished much quicker using a skid steer than a shovel and wheelbarrow. These machines have a smaller version of the bucket one would find on a front end loader. They provide excellent help for leveling dirt and spreading gravel. Most rental facilities offer delivery of such machinery at an additional fee for customers without the means to tow the trailer.

If the project involves fencing or digging piers, a two man power auger may be useful. Under the right conditions, holes can be dug in under a minute apiece, but in hard clay, it can take much longer. While the machine can be operated by two men, four will find it much easier to lift in order to clear the bit of dirt. A wheeled hydraulic machine is a better option if the terrain allows its use.

Trenchers reduce the work needed in digging ditches at one's property. Some of the machines have self propelled tractor wheels and others depend on manually ratcheting wheels. The tools can dig trenches for a multitude of different uses. Before one digs, operators should always call for a locate service.

Concrete can be mixed in small batches using a wheelbarrow or bucket. However, a cement mixer can reduce time and labor for larger jobs. When the job involves several cubic yards of concrete, the best option is to schedule the job with the local ready-mix company who can deliver the concrete needed.

Tray saws can be used for cutting masonry pavers or ceramic tile. They give a cleaner edge than a hammer and chisel. Let the rental store know what you plan to cut so that you get the right blade. These saws use diamond tipped blades that are water cooled. You may also have to pay a blade wear cost, depending on the material being cut.

Home improvement projects can increase the curb appeal and value of your property. The job can be made much easier if you have the right tool on hand. Tool rental companies can provide large or small tools needed to complete practically any project.
