You have always been the type of person to challenge yourself into doing something new every time. You have noticed that recently, you are not really that well as far as the psychical fitness goes. You know that you have to do something to get you back on track again. This is why you have decided that being a part of triathlon might be a good idea. This is going to be though, bit achievable, nonetheless.

You understand that there are a lot of things that you need to do to be prepared for the race. You have never joined any of these virginia triathlons before and you know that this quite going to be a challenge to take on. You do understand that there are things that you can do to make sure that you can successfully finish the entire leg. Here are some tips for you.

Start by determining what your goals are first. Before you decide to take on such a challenge, determining what things that motivate you into making sure that you achieve what it is that you want to achieve this time. Have Remember, there are three events that will be involved here and you need to be well equipped to successfully tackle each stage.

Make sure that you invest the right equipment. Since you are going to have to do swimming, it is very important that you will have the appropriate swimming suit and the right goggles. A swimming cap is going to be very handy to if you happen to have a longer hair. This allows you to keep strands away from you face while you work on your strokes. You need a bike. You need a very handy one too and make sure that it is going to be in the best condition as well.

Cycling shorts are really going to be very helpful too. You would want to be comfortable when you are doing the biking leg of the activity. It is always very helpful when you have this particular items worn because it can help you avoid getting saddle sores. Some people would prefer having clip-less pedals too and others would want to have cycling shoes. You can choose to do without them though.

Invest on a water bottle. This would be very handy when you are on the leg of the race where you will be on your bike. You have to keep yourself hydrated all throughout, after all. A water bottle for use on your longer bike rides.Good running shoes. You don't have to spend $200 to get a great pair of shoes, but you do need a pair of shoes that are made for running and that fit your feet. The best resource for shoes is a local running store.

People who have not kept their fitness all this time may find the whole program to be a little tough to get into. But this does not make it impossible. Just make sure though that you are willing to invest the extra time that is needed in order for you to catch up where the physical aspects mean. Just do not force things though.

Be sure to find a trainer that should be able to guide you well along the way. There are a lot of people who would actually prefer being guided by the experts. You can do the same thing, you can enlist the assistance of somebody who experienced the challenge before. Find one with the most experience so you are sure that you can rely on him.
