Let's suppose for a minute that you are a family of 4; mom, dad and two kids, a boy (seventeen) and a young lady (15). Let's not forget the shopping malls where all the pretty young ladies hang out. Holidays to Cape Town is an incredible selection to keep everyone content for the duration of your stay.
Now that we have the children squared away, what's left for mom and dad? Well, there is the V&A waterfront where you can check-out the aquarium, have lunch at one of the amazing bistros in Cape Town like Mariners Warf, Quay Four, where by the way, mom and dad can go back in the evening to have fun with terrific food and live bands while drinking a favored cocktail looking over the glow that changes the V&A in the evening. Absolutely nothing wrong with that!
Now let's say it's simply the 2 of you, and Cape Town is waiting! What do you do now? Go to the city center and pay a visit to the Cape Gardens. There you can get bags of peanuts and feed the squirrels while going for a walk through the stunning garden, maybe take a break and sit under some of the oldest oak trees in Cape Town, or even visit the natural history museum and find out all about the genuine natives from way back in the day. The gardens are also a terrific family outing.
Another beautiful, pretty much paradise feeling destination to see, is in Kirstenbosch. The Kirstenbosch Gardens are enormous and stunning. Trees all over, open scenery with luxuriant green grass lawns where you can picnic. Simply walking along the path ways is a terrific experience. There are plaques distributed all over giving you the history of the area and importance of various details. It's a wonderfully serene place. And when you start feeling hungry (and have actually forgotten to pack a picnic lunch), there is a bistro on the grounds where you can sit and delight in the spectacular view.
And for a little of a good time , why not follow the wine route? Stop off at every estate along the way and sample a few of the very best wines worldwide and enjoy the cheese platters they offer as an accompaniment.
There is so much to do and things to see in Cape Town, that it is impossible to put all of it down in a single post. Do a little research and you will find out about Franschoek, Muizenberg, Betty's Bay, Simon's Town and a lot more. The list is virtually virtually unlimited. It will just make you hope for more, so plan for plenty more Cape Town holidays!
