Traveling with mini cabs often requires safety and precaution. Choosing a licensed taxi or mini cab is essential for minimizing the consequences of any mishaps during the journey and it's also required by law. That's right, according to the travel department of our country it's our responsibility to check the license of taxi driver before using his taxi for our journey. However, choosing a licensed mini cab is only half of the battle. We can further minimize the risks associated with the journey by following some easy tips. Given below are the dos and donts of a mini Cab Hollywood FL journey:

Use taxi cab companies that are reputable. Many taxi cabs are known for presenting spontaneous deal which has nothing to do with what is on the meter. Keep in mind that the meter is your friend and anything off meter is a scam. If your cabbie offers to give you a cash discount you know that he has something up his sleeve.

It is important to confirm that the driver is familiar with the route you want him or her to drive you to before you board the taxi. This will make you arrive at the destination a bit faster rather than having to travel with a driver who keeps on asking the passengers for directions as it is in some cases.

Sometimes, you might need to yell or whistle Taxi! to get the attention of a driver. Never underestimate the power of a good whistle, taxi drivers are predisposed to turn almost involuntarily and stop.

Your taxi company should cover your assets. Rest assured that if your taxi is involved in an accident while you are riding in it, you are covered. Taxi companies are required by law to buy and keep up insurance which protects customers and their possessions.

Avoid traveling alone - while traveling in mini taxis get company of someone whenever possible. And if you can travel in a group then it'll be the best! If you're going to visit someone using a mini taxi, inform them about it and also tell them the approximate time around which they may expect your arrival. Note down the driving license number and vehicle number of the taxi and text it to someone for extra precaution.

If driver seems to be under the influence of alcohol, don't travel in his taxi. Avoid the taxi if driver doesn't know about the localities of area in which you want to go. Avoid the vehicle if it seems to be too old. Mini cabs older than 5 years aren't considered safe for traveling.

Never get in a stray limousine: Limousines are not allowed to solicit fares. They have to be booked in advance. If you notice such a limousine on the roads then do not make the mistake of hailing it. It is always better to hire a registered yellow taxi instead.
