The transmission of your vehicle must be working properly at all times, or else you could face major trouble and repairs down the line. While you may find an issue very early on, sometimes the problem isn't found until later, which means a need for immediate repairs. Either way, trust a Missouri City transmission and auto repair shop to get the job done.

As soon as your car starts acting funny, you should immediately call to set up an appointment to have it checked out. This is the diagnostics phase, where the mechanic takes a look under the hood to determine what the problem might be. Depending on the age and model of your vehicle, this may have to be done manually or through a computer hook up.

After this initial diagnostic phase, they will lay out what is wrong and the steps needed to fix the damage. If they can fix it right away, you may not need to wait to get the repairs under way. If they have a backlog, you can make an appointment to get it fixed at a later time.

Unfortunately, not all repairs are easy or quick. Sometimes transmissions have to go through a complete rebuild to get them functioning again. Whether you have a standard or automatic, this could take awhile to do and is delicate work, so be sure you trust your mechanic to do the job right.

This is a good opportunity to avoid future trips to the mechanic's garage by getting routine maintenance done at the same time. Tire rotation, oil chances, air filter replacement--these can all be done at once to save time.

After the repairs, your car should be running smoothly again. However, keeping it that way will take a little work on your part. Be sure to always maintain your vehicle with inspections, regular oil changes and a quick visit back to the shop should another one of those check engine lights come on.
