There are some very special vehicles that are very rarely seen at aftermarket exhibitions outside Japan. And in the "historic home" of Acura aftermarket parts, the huge prevalence of splashes, exhaust pipes that stick out at odd angles and tilted wheels is declining. However, the trend is one of, if not the most unusual and impractical car tuning approaches.

JDM is rapidly gaining popularity all over the world and is now a powerful tuning movement.JDM pertains to the Japanese domestic car market, as the cars destined for Japan really differ from their exports. The main features of traditional style JDM Japan are a right-hand wheel, lowered suspension, high-tech engine tuning and so on. Also, a common feature of JDM style is sticker bombing, pasting many small (usually asymmetric) stickers on a car.

Sticker bombing was originally used to "camouflage" small dents and scratches received during races. In Japan, the majority of people are motorsport obsessed and minor damage is not uncommon for novice drivers. Later it became fashionable to "bomb" cars with stickers for "Beauty".

Syakontan is a sort of Japanese version of the low-riders you know so well, they are vehicles with severely lowered suspensions. This feature is often entails a number of other changes and improvements. Primarily, this wheel undergoes Hippari (literal translation - "stretched"), as well as gets an increased camber Oni-kyan (it means "devil's tilt") and drags on the asphalt, with the ring barely on the Tsurikawa strap.

Yankee style's name speaks for itself. They style is based on the bright colors of the ever- popular Hawaiian shirts. Most often, such cars use shades of orange (red), yellow and white flowers. The style implies a low land vehicle. A part of the design are stressed rough linings on the wheel arches, behind which lurk some very wide wheels.

One thing your Acura may be well- suited to, is the popular VIP culture- the most expensive bosozoku, done by tuning new (or relatively new), and expensive cars (such as this brand offers). There are two versions of the appearance of this style: among members of the yakuza and street racers in Osaka. But in both cases, the reason is to attempt to reduce the attention of police by tuning expensive Japanese sedans, with the mandatory under-clearance and installation of wide wheels.

Originally, bosozoku followers were members of motorcycle gangs. But in recent years, especially after the tightening of traffic laws, there has been a reduction of bosozoku and a reducing of its popularity across subcultures, so some adherents of bosozoku have sought separation from the other groups (primarily from criminal elements), so they began to use the name Kyusyakay. Literally translated, it means old classic car.

Cars from Japan are very common in the States, and constitute a significant portion of the total fleet of the country. In some places, cars destined for the Japanese domestic market are popular, and even ones assembled for left-hand traffic are adored. However, the location of the steering is not the most important thing in your Acura and you know it.
