Snowmobile manufacturers these days offer several different graphic packages that you can order from. OEMs make all these snowmobile graphics possible, and allow customers to customize and choose what goes on their sleds. There are many options so that manufacturers can satisfy everyone's tastes. This availability is great because factories can finish the product better than other separate customizers, and you'll get the best possible quality.

Aftermarket packages can create a more dynamic look for your snowmobiles. These days, there are two types of plastic surfaces for snowmobiles, smooth and rough. The smooth surface is almost as shiny as a car's paint job. The rough one isn't as glossy and is a bit textured, somewhat like a belly pan. Graphic application in these cases differ as well. Smooth surfaces require a wet method, and rough surfaces will require dry installation. The rough surface needs a dry application so the graphic sticks better.

The graphics will need to be installed with the panels placed on a machine. This will keep the panels in place. More importantly, the installer can work simultaneously on the graphic alignment.

During rough surface installations, you'll need to clean your hands before you start so you don't dirty the sticky section of the graphic. Start with the corner of the graphic, and place it on the panel using your fingers. You don't want to have any air bubbles visible on it, so peel it back and try again if there are.

Afterwards, you should add some heat into it. This step is optional, but it will help tighten up the corners and will alleviate the wrinkles on the graphic. If you add too much heat, the graphics can get damaged or shrink too much, so keep that in mind.

The smoother surfaces will need to be clean before you start your application. Spray your fluid or soapy water on the sticky area of the graphic, as well as the surface. Dripping fluid is perfectly fine. You will then lay the graphic down and move it into the right position. Then, you should squeeze the fluid from the center of the graphic all the way out.

Make sure there isn't any fluid left in the center. This will definitely be difficult to remedy later. This problem is like the air bubble issue you see in rough surface graphics.

Once your graphics are installed, you can trim some of the edges off. However, if you've done a good job, you won't need any trim on it. Use a razor knife to trim the edges, leaving at least a fourth of an inch from all the edges. This will make your graphic look much more professional and appealing. It will also help not make the graphic catch on anything.

You should take a step back and look long and hard at your snowmobile after the installation. You will notice how a simple graphics package can improve your sled so much better than before. Go ahead and enjoy your newly rejuvenated ride.
