An oxygen sensor is a type of an electronic device. Its main function is to measure oxygen gas, both in a liquid or gas state. This is in a case where the gas is to be analyzed. The gadget was introduced into the market way back in the nineteen sixties under the supervision of Gunter Bauman. At times, the device can stop working properly and can be made useful again through oxygen sensor recycling.

The device faces high chances of contamination because of where it is located. Its location is in the exhaust of motor cars. The contamination mainly results from fuels and also gases that pass along this location. Examples of such gases include carbon dioxide gas together with hydrogen gas among other wastes. Contamination from toxins will dysfunction the device. Soot can build up, along ceramic point, and as a result the gadget will not be in a position to detect oxygen as required.

Sometimes you can refill your car with poor quality gasoline, which has high chances of containing lead. Lead can minimize the life span of the gadget. The gadget will also be contaminated by silicate and silicon that is a main cause of malfunction. They destroy combustion engine which will definitely reduce the mileage of your car.

You should sustain the device in the correct shape and state. This is to enable it maintain use of the gas constantly. Sometimes the device can be destroyed more and repairing it will not bring it back to life. In such a case you must by another one. Its price is too high so you should do everything that can make it last for long. We can repair this gadget through cleaning it and installing it back. This is shortly when you discover that it is not functioning well.

We can repair old items by cleaning them. Sometimes we can remove dirt and be surprised to see it functioning just like it was new. This is after discovering residue forming on the device which obviously making it not to function well. By cleaning however, we are not guaranteed that it will function again.

Propane is what is normally used in cleaning the exhaust so as to get rid of the residue. The sensor is normally heated a lot while in the exhaust and therefore contaminants can easily pass along it with time, a coating of carbon may form. It is hard to dissolve this coat with solvents.

We should use the blow torch in heating the tip of this device until a point where it turns red. Just immediately after turning red, we should dip it in water. We clean the gadget by blowing compacted air into the tip of our device.

In conclusion, we should remove oil contaminants and fuel. We can use a CRC brand QD electronic cleaner to do this. This is an effective method, removing the entire residue upon drying. We ought to be careful to avoid contact of the nozzle of a cleaner with the gadget while spraying. Through the above procedures, we ought to maintain the gadget ensuring its life span is maximized hence saving on the cost.
